R: May the Lord preserve him, and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth, and may the Lord not deliver him up to the power of his enemies.

O God, who in the counsel of Thy providence wished to build Thy Church upon St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles, look down favorably upon our Pope N.; and grant, we beseech Thee, that he who Thou hast appointed successor of Peter, may be for Thy people the visible principle and foundation of the unity of faith and communion. Through Christ our Lord.
